Cedar Springs Church Blog

What’s new this week?

Dear Family and Friends of Cedar Springs Church,

“5Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

People have asked me on several occasions, “What is Cedar Springs Church all about?” I tell them that Cedar Springs Church is like so many Christian churches in being a Bible teaching church but different in that it becomes a safe haven where no perfect people are allowed. What does this mean? It means that Cedar Springs Church welcomes sinners, who have been trampled by sin and other sinners, and offers them the opportunity to learn more about Jesus and His love for them. We teach the whole Bible, as seen by our Bible timeline at the front of our worship center. But we emphasize that God seeks to renew us and bring us back to the path of His righteousness. We are a people like the TV sitcom “Cheers,” where everybody knows your name. Being known by name is good, and working to be the hands and feet of Jesus together creates a joy-filled life. God is all about that, and at
Cedar Springs Church that’s what makes us who we are!!

Sunday was special as we honored the mothers among us in worship and heard Lyndee’s life verse that is at the top of this message, Proverbs 3:5-6. We saw so many new faces and greeted people back home who have been gone for some time. The miracles God is doing among us fills our hearts full to overflowing! The healings, the forgiving, the reconciliations, the workings of hand and feet for others is beautiful to see!

This coming Sunday is the fund raiser for Raivu Ministries at Timmer’s Restaurant. I hope you can come and be a part of it. Share in the joy of seeing this ministry be a light in the lives of children and youth who have found a hope in such a dark world. A hope in Jesus! And to know the idea for this fund raiser came from two children who wanted to do a good thing for God. Wow!

I attached a letter from the elders that many of you did not receive by email last week. Thanks to Terry for bringing that to my attention! Have a great week in being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Love being your pastor, John and Karen
